{"id":247,"date":"2015-08-28T05:15:53","date_gmt":"2015-08-28T05:15:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/imedica.sharkz.in\/11\/?p=247"},"modified":"2015-08-28T05:15:53","modified_gmt":"2015-08-28T05:15:53","slug":"why-is-science-lab-mandatory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.royalenglishlaboratory.com\/ar\/2015\/08\/28\/why-is-science-lab-mandatory\/","title":{"rendered":"Why is science lab mandatory?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is not essential to have a degree to become a scientific laboratory technician as many posts ask for GCSEs or science-related A-levels (or equivalent).<\/p>\n<p>However, many technicians do have degrees and so holding a higher qualification in a relevant subject can be useful for securing a job, particularly if competition is high.<\/p>\n<p>A HND or degree in one of the following subjects could be helpful:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>biology;<\/li>\n<li>biomedical science;<\/li>\n<li>biotechnology;<\/li>\n<li>chemistry;<\/li>\n<li>environmental science;<\/li>\n<li>forensic science;<\/li>\n<li>materials science\/technology;<\/li>\n<li>pharmacology;<\/li>\n<li>physics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any degree that has a technical, IT or scientific element will be useful. A pre-entry postgraduate qualification is not required.<\/p>\n<p>Employers value pre-entry experience in a laboratory, as it not only demonstrates your familiarity with lab procedures, but also shows your commitment and interest in the field. If your degree does not include a year in industry, try to gain some part-time or voluntary work in a laboratory or scientific setting.
